In-form Portsmouth will be searching for a 5th win in six as they welcome Accrington Stanley to Fratton Park.
Portsmouth are still with an outside chance of making the play-offs this season, sitting eight points outside of the top six with two games in hands.
In midweek, they beat Oxford 3-2 away from home, once again coming from behind just like they did last week when they drew 3-3 with Fleetwood.
Marcus Harness and Aiden O’Brien are proving to be really good support for George Hirst leading the line up front. They showed they can mix up their play with a cracking ball in for the first goal in midweek for Sean Raggett to head home before some neat football on the break saw George Hirst finish.
Hayden Carter added some gloss on the win with a stunning strike. Defensively they have to be better though, because they will be caught out, especially as they have only kept one clean sheet in eight games.
Accrington were winners of a cracking contest against Wycombe last week 3-2. Sean McConville’s defensive frailties were punished as he filled in at left wing-back, but Stanley fought back twice from going behind with set pieces and second phases from them yet again being their strong point.
Mitchell Clark was sent off late on meaning he will now have to serve a three match ban and John Coleman will yet again have to reshuffle his pack.
While up front, January signing Korede Adedoyin and Colby Bishop have formed a strong partnership already. You can clearly see why The Owls were keen to keep hold of the former Everton youngster.
Prediction: Portsmouth 2-1 Accrington Stanley
Portsmouth will once again come out on top in a game where they struggle to defend. Accrington will take the lead, but Portsmouth will come from behind to take all three points.
One to Watch: George Hirst – Portsmouth striker George Hirst has struggled in front of goal at times this season. However, he took his chance excellently when through one-on-one last week and will look to build on that.
