More Away Joy

Pompey’s unbeaten away record goes on after a 3-1 win at Cambridge United on Saturday.

An own-goal and a brace from Matt Tubbs helped the Blues’ along to their fourth away win of the season. The games turning point was the half-time dismissal of home captain, Mark Roberts, which left Pompey with a one-man advantage  for the whole of the second-half.

An injury time red-card for Gareth Evans evened numbers up, but by then it was academic in terms of the final score.

Tweet of the weekend has to go to Official Pompey for this simple reply to a fan of ‘them lot down the road’ which had over 1,100 retweets. The embarrassed Jamie has now deleted the tweet.

Pompey are now second in the table, three points behind Plymouth, and will be seeking their fifth away win of the season in Wales this Saturday where they face bottom side Newport County.
