The week started with news of the board backing Andy Awford to steer the good ship Pompey back to calmer waters. A brave decision, some may say not the right decision, others will say better to review at the end of the season.  Opinions abound across the web and social media.

Time will tell and ultimately with February posing a ‘kinder’ fixture list on paper, the League Two table you would expect will make more positive viewing for Blues’ fans as we enter March.

A tough away trip to Wycombe beckons on Saturday and on current form, a home win may well be the likely outcome. However, in this funny old game that we love (or perhaps hate at times!),  football does sometimes see the form book turned upside down and just maybe, maybe Pompey’s fortunes could change when perhaps we least expect it?
