Portsmouth will look to make it five league games unbeaten as they welcome AFC Wimbledon to Fratton Park.

Danny Cowley has finally got Portsmouth playing how he would want them to and getting the results that will see them push for a top six finish. They are unbeaten in four league games and last weekend won away to Wycombe in a very impressive victory.

The standout man for Portsmouth was Alex Bass who was superb in net for Pompey. Bass was playing in place of Gavin Bazunu who was away on international duty for Ireland. It will definitely be a headache for Danny Cowley after Bass’ performance. Especially as Gavin Bazunu was keeping Portugal quiet at the same time, stopping the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes from scoring.

Elsewhere, George Hirst started last week but I wouldn’t expect to see much of him after his struggle in front of goal here and in the EFL Trophy against Crystal Place U21’s.

Wimbledon have been struggling as of late with their good start long behind them. They have only won one league game in their last eight. The victory came against Lincoln on their travels with them keeping a very very rare clean sheet.

Mark Robinson’s sides have also gone from scoring goals to struggling to get many at all. At the start of the season what they did so well was play with no fear and now it’s the complete opposite with them stuck between going for goals and going for the kill and sitting back hoping to stop their opponents from scoring which isn’t working at all.

Prediction: Portsmouth 1-0 AFC Wimbledon
Cowley has just started to stamp his style on this Pompey side and results have improved and while they still aren’t as free-flowing as they could be going forward, I think they will edge this one by a goal to nil, Harness the scorer.

One to Watch: Alex Bass or Gavin Bazunu – It will definitely be one of these goalkeepers in net for Portsmouth; with both playing brilliantly it’s hard enough for me to pick one, so good luck to Danny Cowley.
