Pompey Academy return to Furze Lane this Saturday (11am KO) when they tackle Barnet with the Blues’ looking to make it four wins from six played in Merit League One.
With five games played so far, they have picked up wins at Bournemouth (4-3), Gillingham (1-0) and Southend (3-0), drawing at AFC Wimbledon (5-5), but losing at home to Leyton Orient (0-4).
Harvey Bradbury starts a three-match ban following his post-match sending off at Gillingham. Mikey Harris told the Sports Mail:
“It was a strange one really – Harvey basically reacted after the whistle had blown. The players were shaking hands but one of their lads said or did something to get a reaction.
Unfortunately for Harvey he has been a little bit naïve and reacted. He hasn’t done anything majorly wrong, so we are not going to cut his legs off or anything like that.
He is a young lad who has been involved in a very competitive game and he has just got to learn his lesson that when the game is done you move on.”
The Academy will also be without Calvin Davies on Saturday as he continues his loan spell with Bognor Regis Town. The Rocks are in FA Trophy Semi-Final 2nd leg action at Grimsby Town hoping to overcome a one goal deficit from the first leg.
The Academy’s remaining Merit League One fixtures are:
19/3 Barnet (H)
26/3 Plymouth (H)
2/4 Cheltenham (A)
16/4 Exeter (H)
23/4 Luton (H)
