Pompey Academy bounced back in style this week from their recent disappointing 6-2 defeat to Swindon Town as they first overcame FL Alliance SW Champions Plymouth Argyle 3-0 on Tuesday and then defeated Newport County 3-1 at the weekend.
Goals from Harvey Bradbury, Liam Sayers and Brandon-Joseph Buadi saw off the Pilgrims in a match switched to the Blues’ training ground from the South-West due to a waterlogged pitch and non-availability of their 3G pitch.
The young Blues’ then finished up their FL Alliance SW season with a comfortable 3-1 win over Newport County. Kyle McDowell scored the opener, Harvey Bradbury took his tally for the season to eight goals with a header from a Calvin Davies cross, before Adam May hit the third to seal the win.
The Academy finished their Alliance season with 8 wins, 2 draws and 8 defeats, scoring 39 goals, whilst conceding 31. They now wait to hear on whether they have qualified for the top tier of the Merit League which is formed of sides from the FL Alliance South-West and South-East.
