Pompey fans will continue to see match highlights from the South Stand upper gantry on YouTube and Player.

TV coverage of the recent Derby County home match drew much attention following Sky’s opinion that the South Stand upper gantry was unsafe and now Channel 5 have followed suit with their decision to also use the same lower level angle for the Morecambe highlights.

Club media man Dan Smith said:

“Despite the cameraman being happy to go up to the upper gantry, Channel 5 did not allow it on health and safety grounds.

The club hope to review and speak with Channel 5 in the coming week to resolve it as the gantry was approved by Sky/ITN and passed all the health and safety tests at the beginning of the season.

Pompey fans can be rest assured that the club will continue to send a club camera up to the upper gantry so YouTube and Player highlights will continue from the upper angle.”
