Andy Barcham has left Pompey by mutual consent after scoring five goals in 53 appearances during two seasons since joining from Scunthorpe in 2013.
AFC Wimbledon moved quickly to confirm that Barcham had joined the Dons but have not disclosed the contract length.
Barcham speaking to Jordan Cross said:
“It was a really hard decision and one I didn’t really want to make.
With the players coming in, I had to make a decision which was right for my family.
I want to say thanks to the fans for what they did for me. Playing in front of them is something you never forget.”
Dons manager Neal Ardley speaking to the club website said:
“I am delighted because I have been chipping away at this one for a while.
The first thing I am going to do is put my arm around his shoulder and make him feel good about himself again.”
I want to get him back to the sparkling form he was in at Scunthorpe.”
